EuroMed Transport Study on Land Transport in the MEDA Countries Status Repport on the implimentation of the Regional Transport Action Plan (RTAP)

The Regional Transport Action Plan (RTAP) 2007-2013 is an attempt to intensify cooperation with and within the Mediterranean region in the field of transport.

The PART comprises a set of 34 actions in different transport sectors and targets mainly regulatory (institutional) reform and infrastructure network planning and implementation.

The purpose of this study is to provide the actual status on Road and Rail Transport and to provide recommendations on how the actions can be implemented in the future in the Mediterranean countries with the assistance of the European Commission; in particular by i) harmonizing international road haulage (Actions 10 - 11); and ii) improving interoperability and structural reform in the railway transport (Actions 12 – 13).
